Self Esteem Activation Projects

Self-esteem is the assessment or overall subjective emotional evaluation an individual has of his/her own self. Self-esteem is attractive as a social psychological construct because researchers have conceptualized it as an influential predictor of certain outcomes, such as academic achievement, happiness, satisfaction in marriage and relationships, and criminal behavior.

Projects to protect the planet

The planet earth, where we live in, is the largest of the terrestrial planets and mankind, being the most intelligent of all living beings holds the biggest responsibility of protecting it. However unfortunately the biggest issue facing the world's environment is over population of humans. Within last 60 years human population has tripled to stand at massive 7.6 billion as of today causing numerous environmental issues such as climate change, loss of biodiversity, ocean acidification, ozone layer depletion, water contamination and deforestation. It is estimated 50% more food is needed by 2050 while climate change is reducing yields by 2% per decade. Human activities are affecting the climate and according to climate scientists it is too late now to undo the damage that climate change has done to the environment. Protecting the place where we live should be the top priority of all responsible humans.

Flood Donations

Low land areas experienced unprecedented flood disasters during the last few years probably due to increased unauthorized constructions and reclamation of marsh lands. Thousands made homeless while several hundred lost their lives in a matter of few hours. In severely affected areas, road access was cut off by landslides for several days with no electricity and drinking water making the situation grave. DSI Tyres felt the need of the hour as thousands were crying for help and as part of ongoing CSR activities an ad hoc campaign was designed to support the flood victims. The campaign selected badly affected districts to donate dry rations and other essentials.

DSI Tyres Savibala Sathkaraya – “A Library for School”

Community empowerment should begin with the kindergarten level since well nurtured, well developed childhood is a pre requisite of a complete man and the best place to get access to more children being the school, DSI Tyres looked into the school needs. There is a fierce competition in the education sector with private sector's involvement getting bigger. While the affluent sector  seek overseas education and better opportunities available at international schools, children with less facilities and financial capabilities tend to either give up education at early stages or continue it in dire situations to end up with   less employable qualifications. Our intention was to explore the best option in order to empower the less privileged children by way of a CSR initiative. Rather than supporting them with educational and extracurricular materials   what is best for them to achieve more-"the book" was our pick.
